Hire-kart practice sessions

Standard 30 minute hire-kart practice sessions are unstructured and designed for drivers new to the venue to acquaint themselves with our karts and learn the circuit. Those with more experience may use these sessions to improve their racing lines and technique.

Occasionally we offer 45 minute "Red Eye" specials at 10pm. Do keep an eye open for these additional special sessions.

The sessions are open to all drivers aged 16 or over who are at least 5' tall (152.4cm).

Two classes of kart are available:

The RX7 Pro which is capable of 70mph and is ideal for novices and those with less experience.

The RX7 Sport which is capable of 80mph and is best suited to those drivers with greater experience.

Both versions use the same Sodi RX7 chassis but have different rev limits from the tuned Honda 390cc four stroke engine.

Arrival time is 60 minutes before the advertised on track time to allow for sign in, suit up and a safety briefing.

Everything is provided including:
Race suit
Crash helmet
Gloves
Rib protector
Wet weather suit
(when necessary)

All lap times are recorded and will be presented to the driver upon completion of their session.

Praction! A mixture of practice and tuition

Praction; an amalgamation of two words, practice and tuition. This isn’t a substitute for individual one to one tuition, nor is it priced as such.

Praction sessions are very simply Hire Kart Practice sessions watched over by two ARKS* instructors to watch and to offer advice and generally help you get the most out of the session.

Aimed at the enthusiast who is already racing but keen to improve, these sessions start with an outline briefing and this is followed by a 15 minute track walk to more accurately pinpoint braking points, turning points, apexes (clipping points) and advice as to how to get the power down more quickly.

On completion of the track walk you, along with anything up to eleven other drivers will take to the track where you will be watched by the instructors. They will not be able to concentrate on every single driver in the ten minutes you will be on track but they will be able to spot common errors and areas which they feel are worthy of discussion.

After ten minutes you will be flagged back to the pit lane for a quick 5-10 minute debrief session. You will then return to track for another 20 minutes to try and put into practice the advice the instructors have given you coupled with lessons you will inevitably have learned from other club members on track with you.

After this session you will return to the briefing room where your lap time print out will be presented. The instructors will offer further guidance and answer any questions you may have.

Following Praction you may decide to go on to full one to one tuition which we are happy to undertake. Here you will receive the undivided attention of an instructor for a full hour where he can focus on you exclusively and tailor the instruction to your own individual needs.

Praction is a valuable and inexpensive first step on the way to winning.
