The school is endorsed by both Johnny Herbert and living legend John Surtees MBE. In his early years Johnny was a Sisley protege and both a pupil and instructor at the school. John Surtees' son Henry has recently been a pupil at the school and is now successfully competing in championship level junior kart racing.
Johnny Herbert and John Surtees both share Bill Sisley’s passion for the development of young British racing drivers. The school is not just for future F1 stars — it is open to everyone.
The Sisley Kart Racing School was incorporated in 1972 by Bill Sisley and is a founder member of ARKS (Association of Racing Kart Schools). The School is also recognised by the Motor Sports Association.
Bill Sisley (right above) is recognised as the foremost karting expert in the UK with over 35 years experience in all aspects of the sport. As well as manufacturing British championship winning karts for ten consecutive years, he has personally trained and overseen the early careers of some of today’s top British racing drivers. Among those who have benefited from Bill’s expertise are Johnny Herbert, British Touring Car Champion Tim Harvey, current USA Indy-car ‘hot-shoe’ Daniel Wheldon, and leading Formula 3 driver Tom Sisley .
