NEW Format for 2012
Buckmore Park Kart Drivers Club, in association with Club 100, are proud to present the Elite Solo Endurance series for the most experienced club drivers. This series features the superb Club 100 two stroke karts.
The format features:
10 minutes open practice
5 minute qualifying session
45 individual endurance
This series is only open to drivers at the top of the hire kart experience ladder who have been granted a permit to race. Permit applications to Club Coordinator Alan Wood by email. firstname.lastname@example.org
Permits will only be granted to those drivers currently or recently racing any of our 4* events, regular Club 100 drivers, owner/drivers or drivers who can provide written proof of equivalent achievements elsewhere.
This series will be run in two weight classes.
Lightweights: A minimum of 83kg (ballast may be carried to achieve this minimum)
Heavyweights: A minimum of 93kg (New! Drivers who weigh in at 88kg in race kit may ballast up to the heavy minimum of 93kg)
This series is so popular that it is run in two grids which in 2011 was decided by a draw.
New for 2012! – New group system for lightweights All drivers who finished in the top ten of the 2011 series will be classed as Group 1 drivers and will automatically race together. The rest of the drivers will be classed as Group 2 and will either race in the alternate heat or may draw depending on numbers.
After round three there will be a re-assessment and the standings table at that point will determine the Group 1 drivers for the next three rounds.
Another re-assessment will occur after round six and this will determine Group 1 drivers for the rest of the season.
This system allows the top drivers to race together whilst giving a chance for newer drivers to score good points and move up through the season.
The heavies will generally be kept together and will usually race on the same grid as the Group 1 drivers.
It is the responsibility of the driver to provide adequate ballast as no ballast will be available on the day.
Trophies will be awarded to the top three in each weight class in each race.
This is a five star event which is only suitable for the most experienced drivers holding an Elite Permit.
All drivers must be at least 16yrs of age but drivers of 14yrs and above will be accepted provided they are in possession of a valid/current MSA/ARKS license.
