The Elite series of events are 5* events for the driver who has earned his/her 'spurs' in lower rated events and is now ready for the next step. These events are not open events as all drivers need to be granted a permit in order to race.
For 2014 we will be running an eight round series as usual, but each race day will become a double header. One round will be held in the morning, followed by and extended lunch break. The second race will start mid afternoon. The best six out of eight rounds will count toward the Championship. All rounds can be booked as one-off races.
The weight categories will be as before. Lightweights will have a minimum weight of 83kg (driver in full race kit and including ballast.) Drivers who weigh at least 88kg (unballasted) may add weight to become a heavy. The minimum weight in the heavy class is 93kg. Drivers MUST provide their own ballast.
The format of each round is the same as in 2013. A ten minute open practice will be followed by a five minute timed qualifying session for grid position. The race will be of 45 minutes duration.
Trophies are awarded to the top three in each class at each round and series trophies will be awarded at the Annual Awards Evening following the end of the season.
A monthly payment plan (March to October) is available to existing permit holders who wish to avoid having to pay two race entry fees on the same day. Please speak to the sales team for details.
Applications for Elite permits should be sent to club co-ordinator

Thanks as always had a great time. Always amazed at how much fun Karting is even though I play with my race cars during the season.
