The Sodi World Series – World Championship 2012

Welcome to the Sodi International Leisure Ranking for kart racing. Are you a hire kart karting enthusiast who loves the thrill of racing? Come test your mettle against the top leisure drivers in the Sodi W Series!

The concept is simple. A series of official SWS hire kart races will be held throughout the world, generating an international ranking updated in real time on the dedicated Sodi SWS website. At the end of the season, the top-ranked drivers will compete in the International Final held somewhere in Europe in the early summer of 2013 .

The SWS is 100% hire kart series, giving you the opportunity to compete throughout the season, in your neighbourhood or on the other side of the world, without having to invest in race equipment.

Thanks to the Sodi W series, the world is yours… How far will you go?

Buckmore has arranged a series of races to run from 1st March – 31st December that will act as qualifiers for this great International series.

This year we will again be offering qualifiers in both the individual (Sprint Cup) and team (Endurance Cup) categories. The individual events (Sprint Cup) will be arranged as an integral part of the Man of Steel Championship rounds and will therefore offer weight classes.

The first 8 races will be during the Summer Championship and the last 2 will be part of the Winter Championship. The team events (Endurance Cup) will be integrated with the three rounds of the Six Hour Summer Championship as well as the Three Hour series of races.

There is no extra cost to enter so all you pay is the normal race entry*.

We will register you onto the SWS website and will give you a user name and password (which will be your Buckmore membership No) and would ask you to keep this password unchanged for the season so that we can keep your entries and points updated.

*Drivers who reach the World Final will be required to pay an entry fee.

Points earned will be uploaded to the Sodiwseries web site so you can keep track of your performance. The grand final will be held in Europe in 2012. The SWS website has more details.

2012 is the start of the fourth year of this series and as a club we have been very successful to date. In 2009 three drivers attended the SWS World Finals, in 2010 the number rose to six and we also produced a Junior World Champion (Piers Prior). This year we are proud to salute Shaun Hollingsworth, Terry Waller and Darryl Evans of Team STD who go to the finals as the No 1 team in the world. Also, in the individual category we are represented by Dan Brown who is ranked No3 in the Sprint Cup rankings. Our boys will compete in Paris over the weekend of the 18th & 19th May. We again did well in the Junior Category with Junior Club member Luke Battersby ending 2011 as World Runner Up in the Mini Cup class.
