It’s light until late; the leaves are on the trees, so we can truthfully say that the summer has arrived. June is a great month at Buckmore and our diary is full of exciting events and new developments. Read on to get the stories behind the headlines…

Elite 5* Events for drivers at the top of their game
Next race day Sunday 2nd June

The Elite Series offers two stroke racing for drivers at the top of their game. This is not an open series as a permit is required. Click here for permit requirements

The first race of the day is the Elite Solo, a 45 minute race for individuals which is run in two weight classes. The first two rounds of this season have totally sold-out, so if you are planning to race, don’t find yourself relegated to the reserve list, Book here

Later in the afternoon is the Elite Team Endurance. The format for this is a 20 minute practice followed by a 5 minute qualifier and then a 2 hour race. Three compulsory ‘fuel-windows’, a minimum driver weight coupled with the incredibly well matched C100 karts makes the series very competitive and fair.

We still have spaces for more teams and for 2013 we have introduced a new Elite Team permit with slightly easier entry requirements. If you and your team are regularly competing in four stroke team events and feel you are ready to take the next step, then please talk to Elite coordinator Alan Wood — alan@buckmore.co.uk

2013 F1 Grand Prix Specials – Sunday 12th June & Sunday 30th June

Emulate the Canadian and British F1 Grands Prix in style at Buckmore.

How does the GP Special work?
Watch the Grand Prix with fellow petrol-heads in the Surtees Suite on our big screen whilst enjoying a buffet meal. After the race pop on your race gear and prepare to replicate the race (minus any crashes we hope). In the case of the Canadian GP, which is being shown later in the day, you will race first, and watch/eat later.

Qualifying will be F1 style with Q1, Q2 and Q3 deciding the final order. The race will then mimic the number of laps of that day’s F1 Grand Prix (or the maximum time in the case of wet weather or other delays)

Further Grand Prix Specials follow; (Indian and Brazilian) all the races are ‘stand-alone’ events but together they are a Championship to find the overall GP Champion of the year.

Last year these events sold out very quickly and we anticipate that they will again this year. To avoid disappointment you can book now.

Fathers Day Special — Monday 24th June

To celebrate Fathers Day we have come up with a great idea. Our 30/30 Duo Endurance is designed for teams of two. Each race for 30minutes, earning points based on their finishing position. The team with the most points wins. This month we are offering an extra prize, a huge trophy to both drivers in the top scoring Father & Son Team! The cost is just £99 per team of two, so it will only cost you £49.50 to treat your Dad.

Places are already filling fast and are limited to 35 teams, so don’t delay, book it today.

50th Anniversary Special — 24hr Team Endurance Race — 12/13 October

It’s true! As part of our 50th anniversary celebrations we are delighted to announce that we will be holding a 24 hour team endurance event over the weekend of the 12th and 13th of October.
This exciting event is suitable for teams of between 4 (Min) and 10 people, though 4-6 is the optimum number. Priced at £1499 per team, a team of six would each get four hours of ‘seat time’ for under £250. The karts used for this race will be our ‘new for 2013’ fleet of 390cc RT8’s.

Since announcing this event two weeks ago, we have already sold around a quarter of the available places (35 teams max). This could well be the only 24hr race we ever run — at least until our 100th anniversary — so don’t miss this great opportunity to race round-the-clock at Buckmore.

Practice Session — Special Offers

We all need to watch the pennies, so what better than our discounted 30 minute practice sessions. Look out for ‘Early Bird’ and ‘Red Eye’ specials, along with other sessions where we have simply chopped ten pounds of the normal price.

Monday Madness is back! On selected Monday (and some Tuesday) afternoons we offer ‘two for one’ 30 minute sessions, so if you can an afternoon off at the beginning of the week, you can save yourself some money. Keep checking the diary for the next Monday Madness 2-4-1 offer.

Coming soon for BPKDC Members

We have a very exciting project going on behind the scenes and due to be launched this month. Part of it involves some groovy new race timing software that we are currently back-to-back testing with our current system. However, for our regular drivers, our software boffins, geeks and nerds have been working round the clock to bring you something very special.
